COVID-19 News Update

February 26, 2021

Residents, Families and Partners,

We are proud to announce that to the best of our knowledge, we have had zero positive COVID-19 cases in our community over the past few weeks. This is thanks to the tireless efforts of our staff, and the safety precautions taken by each and every one of you. Thank you! With an eye towards avoiding another potential outbreak, we will continue to test our staff regularly and our residents as symptoms are presented.

On Tuesday, we held our second community vaccination clinic. Many of our residents and staff have now completed the required two doses. For those that just received their first vaccine, we will hold a third clinic on 3/23/21. More information will be shared on the specifics as that date comes closer.

With the vaccinations have come many questions about how our policies will change in the future. The Arizona Department of Health Services still categorizes Maricopa County as having a “Substantial” level of community COVID-19 spread. For now, our current restricted visitation procedures will continue with no changes. Visitors must have a negative COVID test received within the last 48 hours, and can visit indoors for only 15 minutes. As soon as new policies are put in place, we will communicate them to you.

As always, please continue to do the following to help us keep our community safe:

  • Wear masks and practice social distancing
  • Engage in good hand hygiene before and after touching mouths, nose or eyes.

These habits, together with the infection control precautions we’ve taken, help lower the COVID-19 risk to our community. That added security means that daily life at The Citadel can hopefully begin to return back to normal. Again, as new policies are put in place, we will communicate them to you.

As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Garrett Jones
Executive Director
